Update on Kendra

About three weeks ago, I wrote a blog about Kendra Easley (see, Lemonade Stand For A Good Cause).  Kendra was been diagnosed with stage 4 Hodgkins Lymphoma a couple of years back, and has been undergoing extensive treatments since then.  Today I received a message from Gini Banks, Kendra’s mother letting me know that Kendra has relapsed, and has to have another transplant.

Kendra’s family is participating in Light the Night  in her honor.  This is the official evening walk and fundraiser event for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.  It is the nation’s night to pay tribute and bring hope to thousands of people battling blood cancers and to commemorate loved ones lost.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) funds lifesaving research that has contributed to major advances in the treatment of blood cancers and treatments for other types of cancer. New targeted therapies that kill cancer cells without harming normal tissue are providing drugs and procedures that are improving quality of life.

I am inviting you to participate either by walking or making a tax deductible donation, in her honor,  as Team Kendra.  I have already made my donation at this website address, http://pages.lightthenight.org/ga/Atlanta10/TeamKendra#Welcome-to-our-Teams-Homepage

Please support Kendra and her family in this very important national event!  It has been a rough couple of years for Kendra and she has been fighting this desease head on while raising her 18 month old baby as a single parent.  Please keep her and her family in your prayers.

Thanks everyone!
